At Rein Dance Farms we provide specialized care custom tailored to your horse’s needs. Unlike most of the lay-up facilities in Southern California we do not accept race horses. Instead, we cater to the needs of the performance horse, whether that horse is an athlete in reining, cutting, dressage, jumping, barrel racing, reined cow work, or many other disciplines.  We can provide post-operative and post-injury care with your horse’s regimen being directed by the treating veterinarian, or simple lay-up for the horse that needs a vacation from the rigors of competition. Some of the services offered are:

Underwater treadmill
Hand-walking
Hot walker time
Turn-out
Bandaging and wound care
Administering medications
 

Many horses benefit from time in the underwater treadmill. Post-injury recovery time can sometimes be cut in half with work in the treadmill. It is also beneficial for cardiovascular conditioning while reducing the stress on the musculoskeletal system. Horses coming back to training after lay-up return to fitness much more quickly and with fewer injuries when the treadmill is part of their regimen.
